Benchmarks

In overall scoring, active foreground workloads are weighted more than background workloads. Background loads are meant to be sustained loads on the system that help measure the responsiveness of foreground applications in the benchmark. See below for how the individual workload scores are calculated.

The Procyon Essentials final result is as follows.

Where each score is an average of each test section, which is then put to the power of a weight to correspond to the amount of work each section represents in the benchmark.

Sub-Scores

Each sub-score is the geometric mean average of the workloads comprising of it, multiplied by a constant to set a baseline average score of 5000 for a high-end reference machine (at the time of the benchmark’s release). This is to assist in making scores more easily readable and comparable over the lifetime of the benchmark.
